Não costumo ouvir o trampo do cara, seja com suas bandas FAKE?, Oblivion Dust ou solo. Também não costumo mais ler entrevistas com músicos. Só que o JrockNYC publicou uma até que interessante com o Dinho Ouropreto anglo-nipônico. Aliás, com perguntas feitas por fãs. Alguns trechos:
JrockNYC: My 5-year-old daughter and baby boy are half japanese+ half white/american. What's one cool thing and one lame thing they can expect to experience/encounter/feel as they grow up and (maybe maybe maybe) enter the japanese music business?
Ken: (...) They don't want to enter the music business - trust me!
Alguém lembrou da polêmica entrevista anônima com o ex-produtor de visual kei? Yakuza detected!
-What exactly is the reason for you not doing encores with both bands? I never truly figured that one out...
Ken: The whole idea of encores seemed (and still seems) very egotistical. The fact that you have 2~3 songs ready to play before the crowd calls you back on stage? It’s like saying “Yeah, the crowd will love us, so what should we play when they call us back out?”. I dunno...I’ve always felt that the band should give every last drop of soul during the main part of the show, so when they are done they have nothing left to give.
Esse negócio do “encore” é uma grande palhaçada. É o famoso “bis”, como é conhecido por aqui. A banda para de tocar e sai do palco como se tivesse terminado o show. O público pede pra eles voltarem. Eles voltam e tocam. Mas todo mundo, inclusive o próprio público, já sabe que tá tudo planejado. Um teatrinho bobo. Mas tem tanta coisa pior no mundo da música — e não só no Japão —, não é mesmo?
-How about: Sex, drugs, rock & roll; which would you choose if you could only have one of the three for the rest of your life?
Ken: Are you kidding me? I'll take the sex. Besides, drugs and rock n' roll is bad for you!
